It's the last week of the regular season. Still five teams from Lorain County with a chance to go to the post-season. Elyria Catholic could have been a 6th team but their loss last week to North Ridgeville has effectively eliminated them from contention.

Rocky River (4-5, 2-3)
Bay (1-8, 1-4)
Lakewood (1-8, 0-5)

Still five teams remain, here is what the Week 11 match-ups look like right now. First Friday November 8:
  • Toledo St. Francis DeSales at Avon (Region 4: #7 vs. #2)
  • Avon Lake at Akron Ellet (Region 4: #6 vs. #3)
Saturday November 9:
  • Elyria at Canton McKinley (Region 1: #12 vs. #5)
  • Youngstown Ursuline at Black River (Region 15: #5 vs. #4)
  • Chippewa at Columbia (Region 16: #8 vs. #1).

Next the county races:
  • The PAC Stars Division: A victory tonight for Black River at Keystone and they will win their 2nd straight championship.  Keystone needs to win in order to force a tie. Buckeye can earn a share of the title with against visiting Firelands and a Keystone victory.
  • In the PAC Stripes, Columbia can win their 2nd straight championship with a win against visiting Clearview. Fairview can earn a tie at the top with a win on the road at Lutheran West and Clearview defeating Columbia.
Note: In the Patriot Athletic Conference, teams earn two points for a division win.
  • Avon has clinched the West Shore Conference title. Tonight they travel to Bay and, like Columbia, are looking to complete a perfect 10-0 regular season.
  • In the Southwestern Conference, Brecksville still leads by one game over Avon Lake. Tonight, the Bees host Westlake while 2nd place Avon Lake travels to Amherst. The Shoremen need a win and for Westlake to pull off an upset in order to earn a share of the SWC.
Tonight's WOBL game features the Clearview Clippers traveling to Columbia Station to take on the Raiders. Columbia with a win:
  • Finishes 10-0 for the first time in school history
  • Will earn a home play-off game, the 2nd time in school history
  • Will win the PAC Stripes division title, their 2nd in a row and 3rd in the last 4 years
Clearview stands in their way. The Clippers lost to the Raiders last year in a winner-take-all game for the division title. Clearview was top team in the Stripes Division from 2007-2009.

If the game didn't already have enough on the line, Columbia Station voters will head to the election polls on Tuesday with a school levy on the ballot. A levy failure and all Columbia High School athletics will be terminated. Tonight is the last football game before election day.

Both Jeremy and I went 16-2 last week. Jeremy has already made more correct picks in 2013 than all of last year with one week to go. With 19 game predictions this week, I need a 17-2 record in order to make 2013 my best year picking high school football games.
