AIW Absolution 8

Results from last night's @aiwrestling #ABSO8 event at Turner Hall in Cleveland Ohio - all AIW wrestling blog posts.

  1. The Jollyville Fuck-Its (T-Money & Nasty Russ Myers) defeated The Sex Bob-ombs (Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett) when Myers pinned Vega after hitting a top rope cannonball.
    
  2. The next match was scheduled to be Louis Lyndon vs. ACH. After Lyndon was introduced, AIW Acting President Matt Wadsworth came out and told the crowd ACH suffered a concussion and was unable to compete. Wadsworth then introduced Lyndon's opponent as his former AEROFORM tag team partner Flip Kendrick which led to ...

    Louis Lyndon beat Flip Kendrick via dragon sleeper submission.

    Up next, #Nixon (Eric Ryan, Bobby Beverly, Rickey Shane Page and Duke Schork) came out and cut a promo. Duke led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to commemorate the 1-year anniversary of the group after making their debut at Absolution 7.
    
  3. Johnny Gargano defeated Ethan Page via the Garga-No-Escape (Chickenwing over the shoulder crossface) submission.
    
  4. The Batiri (Kodama and Obariyon with Veronica Ticklefeather) beat AIW tag team champions Hope & Change  (Greg Iron and Veda Scott) to win the titles after Kodama pinned Iron after a flapjack/kick combo.
    Referee Jake Clemons originally ruled Hope and Change the winners after Iron pinned Kodama after hitting him with a foreign object. AIW Acting President Matt Wadsworth came out and ruled the match re-started. Afterward, Scott (a vegan) got curb stomped into a kiddie pool of cheeseburgers.

  5. Michael Elgin and Josh Alexander fought to a 30-minute time limit draw. Afterward, the two agreed to a re-match at the Hell On Earth 9 show in November.

    Mat Fitchett dislocated his left shoulder during the opening
    match. He returned from Lutheran Hospital
    in time for the main event.
  6. Up next was Intense Champion B.J. Whitmer defending his title against Chris Dickinson. Dickson was not at the show so Whitmer offered an open challenge to anyone on the roster. Out came #Nixon (Bobby Beverly, Rickey Shane Page and Duke Schork). The Duke said since Beverly did not receive his rematch after losing the Intense title at Absolution 7, he deserves a title shot tonight. He also said since Beverly and Page's scheduled tag match will not happen now, Page should be added to the match. Whitmer agreed to put his title on the line in a three-way dance. AIW Acting President Matt Wadsworth came out and evened the odds by adding M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross to the match making it a fatal 4-way match which led to ...

    Intense Champion BJ Whitmer pinned Rickey Shane Page after hitting a dragon suplex into a table in a fatal 4-way match that included Matt Cross and Bobby Beverly.
    
  7. Out next was The Submission Squad (Pierre Abernathy, Evan Gelistico and Gary Jay). However, only Jay and Gellistico came out. Abernathy was not in the arena and substituting for him was Hot Young Briley aka younger brother of WWE's Dolph Ziggler which led to ...

    The Submission Squad (Evan Gelistico, Gary Jay and Hot Young Briley) defeated the Old School Wild-Eyed Drunken Boys Express (Jock Samson, Marion Fontaine and Tracey Smothers with Isabella Smothers) in a Bunkhouse Brawl Match when Briley splashed lighter fluid in Smothers' eyes leading to Jay pinning Smothers with a roll-up. During the match, Samson gave Gelestico a reverse piledriver off the stage through a burning table.
    
  8. Michael Hutter defeated Tim Donst via referee stoppage submission when Donst passed out while in a full-nelson submission hold. Afterward both men talked on the mic and they end up shaking hands. Donst then kicks Hutter in the man zone.
    
  9. Colin Delaney (with Selezia Sparks) pinned AIW Absolute Champion Eric Ryan (with Duke Schork) to win the title after hitting a variation of the Larry Sweeney 12 Large Elbow from the top rope.

    Afterward, Ethan Page came out and cashed in his title shot after winning last month's #JLIT tournament which led to ....
    
  10. Ethan Page pinned AIW Absolute Champion Colin Delaney (with Selezia Sparks) to win the title after hitting his Super Spinning Dwayne (Rock-Bottom) finisher off the top rope. During the match Sparks low-blowed Delaney and helped Page win the match. Afterward, Page cut a promo with Sparks by his side.
