AIW - We've Got a DilEMMA

Results from Friday's @aiwrestling #WeveGotADilEMMA event at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Cleveland Ohio - all AIW wrestling blog posts.

The main event was AIW Absolute Champion Nick Cage defending the title against Hot Sauce Tracy Williams.  Another big match is the AIW debut of Tenille Dashwood who recently wrestled in WWE under the name Emma.

  1. Jock Samson beat Mance Warner (with The Duke) when Samson hit Warner with Duke's golden boot and dropped an elbow for the win.

  2. Matthew Justice pinned Tim Donst after a diving knee strike in a fatal four-way match also involving Louis Lyndon and Calvin Tankman (subbing for Gringo Loco).

  3. MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman) pinned Colt Cabana with a rollup after throwing urine in his face.  During the match it was revealed that MJF is Cabana's son.

  4. "Filthy" Tom Lawlor beat Dominic Garrini after hitting a variation of the Styles Clash (inverted mat slam) - Lawlor was unable to use both arms when hitting his finisher due to a broken arm suffered during the match.

  5. The Philly Marino Experience (Philly Collins and Marino Tenaglia) defeated The Jollyville F***-Its (Nasty Russ Myers and T-Money), The Young Studs (Bobby Beverly and Eric Ryan) and To Infinity and Beyond (Colin Delaney and Cheech) when Collins pinned Ryan after PME hit the flapjack flatliner.

    INTERMISSION

  6. AIW Tag Team Champions Twins (PB Smooth & Swoggle) defeated Dedication Personified (Brian Carson & Dr. Daniel C. Rockingham) when Smooth pinned Rockingham after hitting the Call the Coroner (sitdown chokeslam). During the match, Carson suffered a concussion.

  7. Tenille Dashwood defeated Britt Baker after hitting a yakuza kick to a sitting Baker.

  8. The Production (Frankie Flynn, Derek Director, Magnum CK, Eddy Only and Donovan Allen) defeated No Consequences (AJ Gray, Tre Lamar, Garrison King, Chase Oliver and Joshua Bishop) when Flynn pinned Bishop after a top rope moonsault.  During the match, Magnum CK suffered a broken nose.

Afterward, the Production continued to beat down Bishop until Josh Prohibition made the save.  Prohibition told a story of Bishop telling him he is his inspiration for becoming a wrestler.  Then was upset at Bishop for no-showing the class he was going to appear.  After Bishop spit in his face, Prohibition attacked Bishop with the microphone and a chair and challenged him to a match at the next AIW event on March 10.

  9. AIW Intense Champion Joey Janela beat DJZ after hitting the Coup de Grace (double foot stomp off the top rope).

  10. AIW Absolute Champion Nick Gage pinned "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams after hitting the choke breaker and a handful of tights.

MJF vs. Colt Cabana The last thing wrestling needs is an illegitimate son angle but these guys pulled it off.

First, they were in denial, then they did a spot where both MJF and Cabana did the "look up" Cabana spot at the same time.

Finally, ring announcer Steve Guy came from the back with evidence MJF is Cabana's son with a sheet of paper that reads "Who's Your Daddy?" at the top and then the Yes box checked. The match ended with MJF throwing apple juice ... er ... urine sample at Cabana leading to the win.

I was totally sucked into the story and would be fine if this continued after this show - knowing Colt Cabana it won't. Still for one night, it was fun.

PME wins Philly Marino Experience of Philly Collins and Marino Tenaglia are super over. They might be the next in line for a tag team title shot. After the Lawlor/Garrini snooze fest, the PME entrance was welcomed.

Josh Prohibition This was the best segment of the show. Prohibition returning was great. Prohibition giving the rub to Joshua Bishop was even better. Prohibition attacking Bishop was the best.  It should be interesting what the reception is for these two going forward.  Prohibition is great and I look forward to him working heel again.  Thus far, I haven't had a reason to care about Bishop.

Finally AIW has given me something to look forward to.

MISSES

Jock Samson vs. Mance Warner This is minor miss. The match was entertaining but I thought Warner needed the win here. It's a bad look that interference by The Duke backfired especially since Warner was just recently paired up with The Duke.

The rest of the card was just OK.  Josh Prohibition saved the 2nd half of this show.
