Akron Marathon 2012

Participated in the Relay Race portion of the Akron Marathon. The team consisted of Maureen Vastagh, Douglas Morgan, Ken Slater, myself and Kevin Kowel.

My portion of the race (Leg 4) started at Sand Run Parkway and Portage Path and finished at Firestone High School – covered approximately 4.5 miles from the 16.2 mark of the race to the 20.7 mark.

The team officially finished at 4:22:38.

Members of the "Knights of the Buffet Table" team:
Douglas Morgan, Ken Slater, myself (back) and Kevin Kowel (front).
Beginning of the race at National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Runners relax at the Canal Park outfield after the race.
This is one of the relay marathon participants who was
dressed in a Cleveland Browns Trent Richardson jersey, long hair extensions
and a #92 Browns helmet (assuming Michael Dean Perry).
He hadn't started his portion of the race yet.
The sun was out and I bet he was warm.
Firestone High School was Relay Point 5 of the race

Monster Hill Conquered

For those of you who read this blog know that I have taken up running. From time to time I set goals and today's run and achieving one of them. Residents of Parma Ohio may know this hill on Broadview Road just south of Ridgewood Drive. You can get a view of downtown Cleveland at the top of the hill.

My best guess is the hill has a 200 foot elevation. My friend James Ryan requested a visual so here we go.
