Avon Lake at Bedford tonight

I will be covering high school football tonight in Bedford, Ohio as the Bearcats host the Avon Lake Shoremen. You can tune in to 1380 AM or listen online (replay will be available online as well).

Both teams made the Ohio High School Football play-offs last year in Division 2 but started the year with different results.

Avon Lake

The Shoremen are reeling after getting thumped 44-7 in the opening game against Avon. Avon Lake was dominated in giving up 573 yards of offense and have now lost four of five to their neighborhood rivals:

• 8/25/11: @ Avon 38, Avon Lake 7
• 8/24/12: @ Avon Lake 42, Avon 28
• 8/29/13: @ Avon 41, Avon Lake 10
• 8/29/14: Avon 44, @ Avon Lake 7

Bedford

The Bearcats are looking to make it 2-0 against the Southwestern Conference after the win over Olmsted Falls 14-7 last Friday. Senior running back London Cloud had 74 yards rushing including a 31-yard touchdown in the 4th quarter

Bedford's defense includes three players with Division 1 commitments for next year:

• DE, Marquise Copeland, 6-3, 220, Cincinnati.
• LB, London Cloud, 5-11, 225, Ohio
• DE, Najee Stevens-McKenzie, 6-5, 213, Ohio
